Other critics in People Magazine only gave this movie 1 and a half stars. They said the reason for the low rating was how predictable and typical the movie was. They talked about how it was like any other teenage hype movie. The story was typical, and the ending was foreseen from the beginning. They also said that the 3D that was supposed to make the movie look better, actually made the dancing look worse.
I can actually agree with all of these statements. Yes the movie was predictable, the 3D animation wasn't the best, it was full of teen hype. Although i personally loved it. Why? Because going to see that movie, i expected nothing better than what i got. I wasn't expecting a well written, amazing animated movie. This helped me enjoy the movie because my expectations weren't too high. I did enjoy the music and the dancing though. The dancing was incredible, it was entertaining and dynamic. Only problem, like the other critics said, the 3D actually made the dancing look animated and fake. There were some parts of the movie where i actually questioned if they were actually dancing or if it was animated.
So if you go to watch it prepared to not take the movie seriously, but enjoy watching the insane dance moves and light humor, you will love it!

Shrek 4
I have seen shrek 4 in 3D imax and in 2D. To get the full effect from the movie, i definitely recommend seeing it in 3D. There are some parts of that movie that cannot be fully appreciated in 2D. The 3D enhances the movie, and makes it much more enjoyable, if you don't mind spending the extra money.
This was a very interesting movie. Its entertaining, cute and that's about it. The humor is a bit dry, there are very few moments when the audience verbally laughs out loud. Also, they made the mistake of showing many of the funniest parts of the movie in commercials and trailers.
As for the story, it was well thought out and engaging. The story carried along nicely without throwing in any far-fetched or random plots into it. Although, the movie had no real substance. The moral of the story can simply be put "You don't know what you got till its gone." That's just about it, Shrek loses it all, and then realizes how lucky he was and he tries to get it back. Simple.
The new characters, such as Rumpelstiltskin and the piper are great new additions to the movie. "Rumple" is very funny, and the piper is a flutist, which automatically makes him awesome. Also, i love the music played during shrek, very modern yet appropriate to the scenes in the movie.
If you want a kick back, easy- going movie with great 3d, go see shrek. It has humor and entertainment for you and the kids. And a lesson that we can all take to heart.

The Karate Kid
This is my first movie review!
This movie was surprisingly very good. It was immediately captivating, the first few moments of the movie you were already into the story, and even loosened up with a good laugh. But from the moment he gets to china, the movie slows way down. Although the story is simple, the movie is over 2 hours long. Many scenes in the movie are drawn out and unnecessary, and it could have been shortened.
Besides that, the movie was great. I love Will Smith's son, he is an amazing actor. I also love how Will Smith produced the movie with his son. At the end of the movie, it shows pictures of him and his son working together on the set. Also, the scenry of China was beautiful. It made me happy that they didnt only show the glamorous parts of China. They also showed some of the slums of China, which many movies will not dare to do. Also, the filming was great. My only problem was sometimes the camera would shake alot. Although many people do not notice this, it annoyed me slightly.
Now for the story, i appreciate that the movie did not have the disney-like predictability and story. Although very simple, it had some very emotional moments. The story was very easy to follow, no complicted twists in the plot, it was very innocent and sweet. Without being too kidish for the adults. Families can go see this movie together, and all will come out with smiles on their face.
